Oklahoma Lift Laws and Vehicle Equipment Laws


Oklahoma does not currently have a suspension lift limit, bumper height limit, frame height limit, or body lift limit. This means that suspension lift kits, aftermarket wheels and tires, performance shocks, aftermarket bumpers, and grille guards are all allowed to be installed on vehicles driven in Oklahoma.

Overall vehicle size in Oklahoma is limited to 102 inches wide, 13 feet 6 inches tall, and 45 feet long for a single vehicle.

Tire Restrictions

Tires

Oklahoma requires that tires be in safe operating condition, without any bulges or exposed cords. There is a minimum tire tread depth of 1/16 inch. Tire grooving is allowed as long as they are not grooved deeper than the original tread.

Oklahoma's code makes no reference to wheels.






Braking Requirements

It is required that all vehicles in Oklahoma be equipped with brakes on all 4 wheels capable of stopping the vehicle from 20 mph within 25 feet. A secondary, mechanical, parking brake is also required.
